Thecompany has grown from 11 employees in 2017 to over 450 staff globallytoday, andis on track to reach around 550 by the end of2026. This expansion includes investment of over A$50 million annually in R&D, a global pipeline exceeding A$2.5 billion, andcontinuous scaling of production capacity to meet accelerating demand.

About the role

DroneShield is seeking an experiencedCommercialDirector with a strong background indefence, security or critical infrastructure sales across the Middle East region.

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officerthis role will play a key role in driving regional growth, expandingDroneShield’sfootprint, and developing strategic customer and partner relationships across government and enterprise markets.

The role is ideally based in Saudi Arabiaor UAEand will involve regular travel throughout the GCC, wider Middle East and adjacent growth markets.

The successful candidate will work within a lean, high performing global salesorganisationand will be supported by Field Service Engineers, technicalspecialistsand senior leadership. Sales activities include direct engagement with government end users, as well as coordination with regional distributors, systemintegratorsand strategic partners.

The primary geographic focus of the role will be Saudi Arabia and the GCC region, withadditionalsupport across wider Middle East, North Africa,Turkey, CentralAsiaand India opportunities asrequired.

As part of a rapidly growingdefencetechnology companyoperatingin afast evolvingindustry, the successful candidate will be expected to combine strategic business development with hands on execution, owning key opportunities from origination through to closure.

Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations

  • Drive regional business development and sales activities across the Middle East and adjacent growth markets, with a strong focus on Saudi Arabia and GCC government customers
  • Develop andmaintainsenior level relationships with military, law enforcement, homelandsecurityand critical infrastructure stakeholders
  • Lead the identification,qualificationand progression of strategic sales opportunities through the full lifecycle, from early engagement to contract award
  • Support and expand regional distributor,resellerand system integrator networks, ensuring alignment with company strategy
  • Coordinate closely with internal engineering,operationsand leadership teams to support customer requirements,demonstrationsand project execution
  • Lead preparation of proposals, tenders, demonstrations,trialsand commercial negotiations
  • Represent DroneShield at regional exhibitions, demonstrations andhigh levelcustomer engagements
  • Maintainaccurateopportunity tracking, pipeline development and forecasting within CRM systems
  • Contribute to regional strategy development, marketintelligenceand competitive positioning
  • Assistwith distributor and customer training on DroneShield systems

Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • 5–15 years’ experience in sales, business development, or commercial leadership
  • Strong network andestablishedsenior relationships within Middle Eastdefence, security or government sectors, particularly within Saudi Arabia and GCC markets
  • Proventrack recordof winning and delivering complex systems or technology programs with government or military customers in the region
  • Significant experiencein business development, accountmanagementor sales withindefence, aerospace,securityor related technology sectors
  • Strong understanding of regional procurement environments, stakeholderstructuresanddecision-makingprocesses
  • Experience working with distributors, systemintegratorsand government procurement frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability tooperateindependently, manage complex opportunities and close deals in a competitive environment
  • Excellent communication,presentationand stakeholder management skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the region and internationally whenrequired

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within counter drone, electronic warfare, radar, RF, sensor ordefencetechnology markets
  • Prior military or government background
  • Arabic language capability
