Our public service is being called upon to deliver a unified, seamless and effective digital experience for all New Zealanders. The Digital Services Branch works across agencies to connect, influence and support the system to make the most of emerging digital opportunities.

We also support the Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO) to lead New Zealand’s digital transformation and ensure government is equipped to thrive in a fast-changing digital landscape. Joining the Digital Services Branch means playing a key role in shaping this transformation and helping champion meaningful, system-wide change.

About the Role:

The Commercial Manager is an enabling position, focusing on implementing best-practice commercial management strategies to ensure the successful execution of ICT Common Capability contracts, Framework Agreements, and Marketplace Commercial Constructs. This position requires someone with strong commercial knowledge, a solid understanding of contract management and the ability to provide pragmatic commercial advice.

This role involves supporting significant contract negotiations with third party digital service providers and developing ICT contractual documentation aimed at delivering long term commercial solutions for all of government, ensuring lasting public value is achieved.
