We’ve built our business on strong relationships, smart thinking, and genuinely supporting our broker partners. Due to an internal promotion, we’re looking for a new Business Development Manager to join our Southern Commercial team.
This role is about more than just chasing new business. It’s a balanced mix of relationship management, strategic growth, and broker engagement. You’ll work closely with an established group of brokers while continuing to grow Ando’s presence across the Canterbury, Nelson & Marlborough regions (including travelling).
What you’ll be doing
Managing and developing an established portfolio of broker relationships
Supporting brokers with commercial insurance solutions across the SME and mid-market space
Identifying opportunities to grow the book through existing relationships and new broker connections
Partnering closely with internal underwriting teams to deliver responsive, solutions-focused service
Representing Ando in market and building strong regional presence
About you
You’re an experienced insurance professional with a background in commercial underwriting, relationship management and new business development. While previous insurer experience would be ideal, we’re also open to candidates from a broking background (or mix of both!)
You’ll be someone who:
Enjoys being out in market and building genuine relationships
Brings strong commercial acumen and understands the broker distribution model
Communicates confidently and builds trust naturally
Takes a proactive, collaborative approach to growing business
