Job Description

Position Summary

Hawaii State Federal Credit Union is seeking a Commercial Banking Relationship Manager to develop and grow a portfolio of Hawaii business relationships. As the lead relationship advisor, you will originate new business, understand each member's financial and operating needs, structure sound credit and banking solutions, and bring together the right HSFCU partners to deliver a strong end-to-end experience. HSFCU is investing in the continued growth of its commercial banking business. This role gives an experienced banker the opportunity to combine business development, credit judgment, and portfolio ownership with meaningful influence over how we serve Hawaii businesses. The relationship manager will work closely with credit, operations, and senior leadership while helping refine the products, processes, and market approach of a growing commercial platform. We are looking for a relationship builder with strong commercial credit skills, a record of developing new business, and the judgment to balance member needs with responsible risk management. This position is located at our HSFCU Headquarters in Downtown Honolulu.

Base Annual Salary Range: $86,800 - $113,925 per year

The posted range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position, with final compensation determined based on experience, skills, and internal equity.

Essential Duties

  • Develop, manage, and deepen commercial relationships while serving as the primary trusted advisor to commercial members.
  • Generate new business and build referral networks to acquire new commercial relationships.
  • Achieve commercial loan, deposit, relationship growth, and portfolio performance objectives.
  • Structure and develop commercial credit opportunities that meet member needs and align with sound credit practices.
  • Prepare, present, and advocate for credit requests through the approval process.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, relationship health, and credit risk.
  • Coordinate transaction execution and relationship servicing activities.
  • Represent Hawaii State FCU in the community and support internal; partners in identifying commercial banking opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

  • 4+ years of commercial lending, commercial relationship management, or directly related commercial credit experience.
  • Demonstrated success developing new commercial relationships, expanding a portfolio of existing relationships, and building productive referral sources.
  • Strong commercial credit analysis and deal structuring skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements, tax returns, and cash flows.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • An established network of Hawaii business and professional contacts or demonstrated success building referral networks and market relationships.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of complex commercial relationships.
  • Experience presenting credit requests to loan committees or approving authorities.
