Role

Summary:
The Commercial Banking Quality Assurance and Control Specialist II will be conducting routine quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) reviews to evaluate the Commercial Banking Department’s data accuracy, effectiveness of controls, adherence to process and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role will assist the team in summarizing review results for key stakeholders and highlighting gaps, risks, or opportunities for process and procedural improvements.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Perform independently quality assurance by validating Commercial Banking data based on established procedures
- Assist in routine quality control reviews for Commercial Banking functions to identify inconsistent, insufficient or deviations from applicable guidelines, policies or regulatory compliance
- Perform scheduled QA and QC checks in adherence to established departmental timelines and provide detailed summaries to key stakeholders
- Assist in the preparation for all internal reviews, 3rd party audits and state and federal exams
- Basic understanding of Regulation B which enforces the Equal Credit Opportunity Act
- Basic understanding and desire to become certified in Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
- Compile and maintain work papers in conformity with departmental quality standards and guidelines and provide supporting documentation for each audit
- Control risk and manage duties and tasks in a safe and sound manner. Maintain and protect all sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism
- Basic knowledge or understanding of commercial banking laws, regulations, and internal policies, with an ongoing commitment to staying informed about requirements governing commercial deposit and lending activities

- Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for cross-departmental collaboration
- Exhibit attention to detail paired with curiosity and investigative thinking
- Ability to adapt as necessary to a new process or procedure for the benefit of the department
- Effectively prioritizes tasks when managing competing or conflicting deadlines
- Ability to work independently under general supervision while also contributing productively within a team environment
- Capable of distinguishing between minor variances and material risk

QualificationsWhat You Will Need:
- High school diploma or GED required
- One (1) to three (3) years of quality assurance/quality control experience preferred
- Two (2) to four (4) years within a commercial banking role preferred
- Proficient with standard office equipment, word processing and reporting, and spreadsheets
- Experience using QA/QC tools and resources to track trends, errors, and monitor exceptions to support data-driven decision-making
