Job Description

It starts with our culture ...
Common sense has never been common.
If it were, the world would be a different place. Things would run smoothly and on time. People would do what they say and say what they do. Everything would be fair, without all the small talk. And banks would only sell you what you need. When a banker looked at a client, they wouldn’t just see a number, they’d see a dad or a mom or a graduate or a business owner. Our Bankers understand the complexities of people’s lives and offer simple solutions.
That's the basics of Relationships. Fairness. Simplicity®. When you choose our Company, you have an opportunity to make an impact beyond the walls of our buildings.
We have a long-standing commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Through our banking relationships, investing, grants, and volunteerism, NBH Bank promotes the growth, revitalization and sustainability of the communities we serve. We believe that these are important elements in building and sustaining a successful organization and a positive, results-driven culture. We strive for all our associates to feel welcome and empowered at work.
As a Business Banking/Community Development Intern, you will:

• Work with and through others, building and maintaining meaningful relationships
• Operate as an effective communicator, who can stimulate and motivate others while being aware of and responsive to their needs and concerns.
• Bring focus and care to detail-oriented work that must be handled quickly, correctly, and efficiently, and within established guidelines.
• Be an active participant in maintaining guidelines, structure, and established policies as you work with and for others.

As a Business Banking/Community Development Intern, you will have an opportunity to sit at the intersection of community impact, financial empowerment, and brand storytelling. This role is designed for a driven, community-minded individual who is passionate about making banking accessible, relevant, and transformative for underserved communities. You will play a hands-on role in supporting financial literacy programming, entrepreneur development initiatives, community outreach events, social media content creation, and strategic partnership coordination. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the Bank's mission of serving and uplifting the community while gaining real-world experience across marketing, communications, program coordination, and community banking.
The Business Banking/Community Development Intern also plays a key role in social media and brand content creation. This includes contributing to content planning and scheduling across platforms like Instagram and LinkedIn, as well as developing event recaps, storytelling posts, and entrepreneur spotlights. The role may involve capturing photos or videos at events and maintaining a marketing calendar to ensure consistent, timely content that aligns with Bank initiatives.
In addition, the role provides administrative support and assists with strategic partnerships and outreach efforts with community stakeholders such as local chambers, nonprofits, schools, and small businesses. Responsibilities also include supporting meeting preparation, scheduling, follow-ups, CRM/data entry, and tracking partnership activities. The role contributes to outreach and engagement efforts and supports reporting on community programs and overall impact.
You will use appropriate judgment and knowledge of company policies when sharing sensitive information, build a great rapport with peers and all associates, while treating all with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.

All associates are expected to maintain current knowledge and consistent compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures related to the position, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.
