Job Description

About Us

At Transgrid, we are connecting the future of energy. HumeLink is one of Australia’s most significant energy infrastructure projects, a $5 billion transmission development that will connect renewable energy zones to the grid, supporting the nation’s transition to a cleaner, more reliable energy system. This is a once-in-a-generation project, delivering critical infrastructure that will power homes, industries, and communities for decades to come.

About the Role

As the Commercial and Claims Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the commercial outcomes of the HumeLink project across both East and West delivery packages. Operating at the centre of a high-performing project team, you will lead the strategic management of claims, variations, and commercial risks, ensuring contracts are delivered with integrity, efficiency, and commercial rigour. You will work closely with senior leaders, contractors, and delivery partners to proactively manage disputes, influence commercial strategy, and drive best-practice contract outcomes on one of the largest transmission projects in the country.

About You

  • Extensive experience managing commercial outcomes on major infrastructure or construction projects (ideally $500M+)
  • Strong expertise in claims, variations, and contract management across complex delivery environments
  • Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve disputes with senior stakeholders and delivery partners
  • Commercially astute with the ability to identify, assess, and manage risk proactively
Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced project environment.

Employees have access to a range of corporate discounts across retail, utilities, travel, and health and wellbeing, as well as novated leasing options, workplace flexibility, 20 weeks of paid parental leave, and more. Regardless of where you are in your professional journey, Transgrid powers your career by providing access to regular and ongoing training, workplace mentoring, and tertiary education. At Transgrid, you are encouraged to build a career that’s right for you.

About Transgrid

We’ve ensured the smooth operation of over 11,517 km of high-voltage transmission lines and 136 substations and switching stations across NSW and the ACT, with interconnections to QLD and VIC.

Our most crucial work is leading the transition to Australia’s clean energy future. The traditional coal system that served our country for decades is nearing the end of its life, to be replaced by wind and solar generation.

We’re making the right decisions now to prepare for the opportunities and challenges ahead – a changing climate, population growth and technology innovation.

As we lead the way towards a more resilient future, we’re working closely with our customers and communities to make sure no one is left behind.

Wherever you are in NSW or the ACT, you can be confident in the reliable, affordable and sustainable electricity we transmit as we make a better power system for generations to come.
