The Commercial Analytics team at Amgen plays a pivotal role as a strategic partner to Commercial leadership, delivering high-quality analyses and data-backed insights crucial for driving US commercial performance. This role is part of Amgen’s growing analytics capability in India and works closely with US-based Commercial and Global Customer Capabilities Innovation teams to execute analytical work, generate insights, and support decision-making across the business.
As our Commercial Analytics Manager, you are responsible for guiding analytical approaches and ensuring collaboration across different functional teams. The Manager will partner with the Senior Manager to ensure day-to-day delivery of recommendations and develop an objective and rigorous perspective. The role demands strong commercial analytics expertise, problem solving, and the ability to independently execute analytic plans to generate insights.

1. Performance Analytics & Insight Delivery
Lead the design and execution of analytic plans for specific business questions across multiple secondary data sources to support strategic decision-making.
Deliver performance analytics to understand brand drivers, payer/access shifts, promotional impact, field dynamics, and competitive trends.
Support translation of US business questions into structured analytical approaches and apply appropriate methods and datasets.
Develop clear, actionable, and objective insights that support brand planning, portfolio discussions, and commercial execution.
Apply strong US commercial understanding to ensure insights are relevant and strategically grounded.
Execute production, quality, and interpretation of standard performance reports and dashboards (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
Manage collective ownership of understanding data sources, business rules, and caveats, ensuring confidence and accuracy in all outputs.
2. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Communication
Partner with US teams across forecasting, market research, value and access, decision science, and reporting/visualization.
Communicate findings clearly, synthesizing complex analysis into concise narratives and visuals for US stakeholders.
Engage regularly with counterparts to refine requirements, validate assumptions, and align outputs to provide an objective data-driven perspective on performance.
Actively identify risks and performance signals, ensuring timely collaboration with US teams.
Maintain consistency and documentation of methods, KPI definitions, and analytical standards.
3. Analytics Execution, Quality & Team Culture
Lead execution of specific analytical efforts within the team, ensuring accuracy, rigor, and reproducibility.
Contribute to automation and productization efforts that reduce manual effort and speed up insights.
Support AI-enabled analytics by preparing data and partnering on automated outputs.
Ensure analytical work adheres to applicable legal, regulatory, and compliance SOPs across internal teams and vendor partners.
Contribute to building capability in analytics, interpretation, and communication.
Embody a culture of curiosity, accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement across the India team.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s with 8+ years or Master’s with 6 years of relevant sales & marketing operations, and/or analytics experience.
Strong SQL, Excel, and Python skills, with working knowledge of Tableau and cloud data services (AWS, Databricks).
Strong ability and direct experience with analyzing, synthesizing, and integrating various secondary data sources specific to US commercial pharma.
Strong understanding of measurement frameworks, critical metrics, and performance evaluation in a commercial context.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong interpersonal and planning skills; comfort independently manage project timelines and develop contingencies.
Understanding of the strengths and limitations of different analytical approaches.
Proven ability to influence collaborators and lead cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
Strong communication skills with ability to verbally and visually convey a compelling, concise narrative to different audiences.
Ability to drive implementation to enhance methodologies and standard processes.
