The A Side: A Day in The Life

The successful candidate will join a team delivering commercial analysis and operational support across UMG’s global business. This role combines structured process ownership with analytical responsibilities, supporting revenue operations, reporting, and stakeholder insights.

You will work with large-scale datasets from leading global technology platforms, alongside label revenue reconciliation for major artists including K-pop acts such as BTS and Stray Kids. The role involves delivering bespoke analysis for a wide range of stakeholders and building reporting tools (e.g., dashboards) to track performance, identify anomalies, and explain changes in revenue, user behaviour, and market trends.

In addition, you will support deal-specific recharge and rebill activities, requiring a self-motivated, detail-oriented problem solver who can collaborate with colleagues across UMG’s global network to resolve time-sensitive queries. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong intuition, capable of working independently and taking ownership without the need for close supervision.

The role includes regular stakeholder interaction, translating complex analysis into clear, concise commercial insights, and supporting both recurring processes and ad hoc requests in a fast-paced environment.

The B Side: Skills & Experience

  • Analyse revenue, user, and market trends, identifying anomalies and key drivers
  • Own and manage label revenue recharge processes, including validation, market follow-ups, and issue resolution leveraging automation techniques
  • Support deal-specific recharge and rebill activity, applying knowledge of distribution agreements
  • Build dashboards, data visualisations and reporting tools for monitoring commercial and operational performance
  • Investigate data issues and explain performance changes clearly to stakeholders
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis and stakeholder-ready outputs with clear commentary and insight
  • Communicate effectively, simplifying complex data for non-technical audiences

Person Specification

Necessary

  • Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (business, finance, data, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset
  • Experience with SQL, BigQuery, Python, Excel, and/or similar tools
  • Strong automation skills using SQL + Python and related cloud platforms
  • Experience in reporting, analytics, or commercial/finance operations
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to turn data into clear insights

Desirable

  • Experience with dashboarding/BI tools
  • Familiarity with data pipelines and reporting structures
  • Experience producing presentation-ready analysis and materials
  • Exposure to music, media, or entertainment industry data
