Job Purpose
To analyse business data and generate reports for the Commercial and Finance teams that is focused on improving profit by differentiating customer pricing strategies and optimising S&OP.

To facilitate the development of the commercial engagement with the business and with customers through the ongoing advancement of a suite of commercial and financial reporting that will provide meaningful insight, stimulate further discussion and assist in decision making.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Analysis

• Set up commercial modelling tools for analysis and problem-solving projects.
• Validate data and unpack key drivers to explain variances.
• Research and perform trending analysis to provide insight into business and market opportunities; to optimise the sales mix and pricing differentiation; as well as to improve demand planning and logistics.
• Communicate and present the results and findings to the Business Development Managers and, where appropriate, to the business and customers.
• Conduct process flow analysis for improvement and enhancements.

• Customer Pricing Support
• Provide prompt and accurate pricing information for the bi-annual price negotiations.
• Assist in the compilation of individual customer price lists to be used by managers as tools in pricing discussions and to process deals.
• Provide continuous pricing support regarding profitability to ensure that products are sold at targeted margins.

Sales Analysis

• Maintain customer volume templates.
• Maintain historical volume data and graphs with seasonality for review and analysis with New Business Development Managers and Key Account Managers.
• Maintain pricing and revenue templates for analysis with New Business Development Managers and Key Account Managers.
• Maintain selling cost templates.
• Maintain mix, price and volume variance tables.

Standard Reporting

• Generate and provide commentary to support various value added internal management reports.
• Report on and interpret product and /or business profitability drivers, KPI's and performance benchmarks.
• Provide commentary on results and implications and input into corrective actions.
• Compile business reviews for retail and wholesale sales channels.
• Compile various internal and external daily, weekly and monthly performance reports for retail and wholesale sales channels.
• Compile and maintain cost improvement templates

Information & Data Management

• Ensure data is accurately and regularly captured onto the information system to facilitate access to reliable data and reporting for trend analysis and decision making.
• Share with and report relevant data and information to management teams to enable reliable business decision-making.
• Perform general data maintenance in SAP.

Administration

• Oversee filing and safeguarding of records within area of responsibility.
• Compile ad hoc spreadsheets when required.
• Ensure that data captured on management systems is backed up.

Team Coordination

• Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning, prioritising and self-development.
• Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.
• Inform relevant parties in the event of tasks or deadlines not met, the potential risks thereof and provide appropriate resolution.
• Support and drive the business core values.
• Manage colleagues and clients’ expectations and communicate appropriately.
• Demonstrate willingness to help others and “go the extra mile” to meet team targets and objectives.
• Champion training and development of self and others through utilising available training opportunities or contributing to the development of new training solutions in collaboration with national training specialists.
• Participate in and drive regular performance appraisals and ensure that own targets and goals are clear and achievable.
• Maintain a basic appreciation and awareness of employee relations climate and ensure corrective action is taken where required in line with relevant legislation and company policy.

• 3 years’ commercial or sales analysis experience.
