The Commercial Analyst is responsible for driving data-driven insights across Retail (DTC), Dealer, and Marketplace channels to identify growth opportunities, performance gaps, and commercial inefficiencies.

This role partners closely with the Strategic Planning Manager to support pricing strategy through analysis, modeling, and system execution, while maintaining a focus on sales performance, channel dynamics, and opportunity identification. The Analyst plays a critical role in turning data into actionable insights that improve revenue, margin, and channel effectiveness.

Primary Duties

Commercial & Channel Performance Analysis

  • Analyze performance across:
    • Revenue, margin, and unit trends
    • Channel dynamics (Retail vs Dealer vs Marketplace)
    • Product category and item group performance
  • Identify:
    • Growth drivers and decline risks
    • Channel conflicts or imbalances
    • Product-level performance patterns
  • Deliver recurring insights that clearly answer:
    • Where are we winning?
    • Where are we losing?
    • What should we do about it?

Opportunity & Gap Identification

  • Proactively identify:
    • Category gaps and underpenetrated product segments
    • High-traffic / low-conversion opportunities
    • Assortment and channel mix inefficiencies
  • Highlight:
    • Missed revenue opportunities
    • Margin leakage or pricing misalignment signals
    • Expansion opportunities across Dealer, Retail, and Marketplace
  • Partner with Sales, Product, and Ecommerce teams to prioritize and act on findings

Pricing Analysis & Strategic Support

  • Support the Strategic Planning Manager by:
    • Analyzing price elasticity, demand patterns, and competitive positioning
    • Evaluating impact of pricing changes on conversion, revenue, and margin
    • Identifying signals where pricing may be a lever for improvement
  • Contribute to development of pricing strategies through data and modeling, not ownership of strategy

Pricing Systems & Execution Support (Pricefx)

  • Support pricing operations within Pricefx
    • Implement approved pricing updates and rule changes
    • Maintain data inputs (cost, MAP, competitive data where applicable)
    • Ensure pricing accuracy and consistency across channels
  • Help translate strategic pricing direction into clean, executable system logic

Competitive & Market Intelligence

  • Monitor competitor pricing, assortment, and promotional activity
  • Identify pressure points and shifts in the competitive landscape
  • Provide structured insights to inform commercial and pricing decisions

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with:
    • Strategic Planning Manager: Pricing direction and analytical support
    • Sales (Dealer Team): Channel performance and dealer opportunity insights
    • Ecommerce/Retail: Conversion and pricing impact analysis
    • Marketplace Team: Competitive positioning and performance trends
    • Product & Finance: Margin, lifecycle, and assortment alignment

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • 2-4 years in analytics, commercial pricing, finance, or related roles
  • Experience in multi-channel environments (Retail, Dealer, Marketplace preferred)
  • Exposure to pricing analysis or pricing tools (Pricefx preferred but not required)
  • Strong analytical capability:
    • Data analysis and trend identification
  • Basic understanding of price elasticity and margin dynamics
    • Advanced Excel and experience with BI tools (Power BI preferred)
    • Ability to translate data into clear, actionable business insights
    • Strong attention to detail and structured problem-solving
