Title: Commercial Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Stamford, CT (In-Office)

of the Commercial AP Specialist:
Building and Land Technology (BLT) is seeking a Commercial Accounts Payable Specialist to support the day-to-day accounts payable operations for a portfolio of commercial properties. This position is responsible for processing invoices, maintaining organized records, and ensuring timely and accurate payment of vendor obligations.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment. This role is well suited for an experienced accounts payable professional who enjoys process-driven work, takes pride in accuracy, and can work independently while managing multiple priorities. This is an individual contributor position focused on accounts payable operations and process execution within a commercial real estate environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Process and code vendor invoices for an assigned portfolio of approximately 5-10 commercial properties.
  • Review invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and supporting documentation.
  • Enter invoices into Sage accounting software in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Scan, upload, and maintain electronic invoice files and related documentation.
  • Ensure invoices are coded to the appropriate property, account, and cost center.
  • Coordinate with property managers and vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment inquiries.
  • Assist with weekly check runs and electronic payment processing.
  • Maintain organized accounts payable records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Support month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
  • Monitor invoice workflow to ensure deadlines are met and payments are processed on time.
  • Perform other administrative and accounting support duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of accounts payable experience, preferably within commercial real estate, property management, construction, or a multi-entity environment.
  • Experience managing accounts payable for multiple properties, business units, or entities.
  • Accounting software experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of transactions while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow established processes.
  • Demonstrated success in transaction-focused accounting or accounts payable roles.
