About the Opportunity
We are looking for a commercially driven and analytical professional to join our team as a Commodity Trader / Grain Merchant. This role is responsible for supporting grain trading activities, developing customer relationships, analyzing market opportunities, and coordinating execution strategies to drive business growth.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in fast-paced environments, solving complex problems, and making data-driven commercial decisions within the agricultural commodities industry.
What You’ll Do
- Analyze grain market trends, supply and demand, and pricing movements.
- Develop commercial opportunities and support trading strategies.
- Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
- Coordinate logistics and execution activities for grain transportation and delivery.
- Support negotiations related to freight, purchasing, and sales activities.
- Monitor positions, inventory, and market opportunities to maximize profitability.
- Provide customers with market insights and transactional support.
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in commodity trading, grain merchandising, agricultural procurement, or related commercial roles.
- Understanding of grain markets, agricultural commodities, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong relationship-building abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
- English proficiency preferred.
- Ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to commodity hedging, futures markets, or risk management concepts.
- Experience working with rail or freight logistics.
- Knowledge of agricultural market dynamics and commodity trading operations.
