MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Combat Systems Engineer to join our team working in the Washington D.C. Navy Yard This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days onsite per week
The Combat Systems Engineer in this role will provide technical support to the Assistant Program Manager overseeing the modernization and maintenance of in-service AEGIS software baselines.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Developing software baselines including requirements definition, systems engineering, test and evaluation, software defect correction, and other technical scope of work
Providing Subject Matter Expertise in support of Aegis SW baselines 5 and 9 infrastructure maintenance
Supporting the Senior/Deputy Integrated Product Lead (IPL) for I&T to include: Cert meetings Flight Test & CSSQT support
Proactively developing and mentoring team members at all levels
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
7+ years of program analysis or systems engineering experience in support of US Navy programs and/or experience in Combat Systems roles onboard US Navy AEGIS Destroyers/Cruisers
Experience providing technical briefings to Senior leadership
Experience working with and a comprehensive understanding of DOW/DON Policies and Procedures related to systems engineering processes and acquisition and modernization of Navy combat systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Risk management, schedule/cost management, and Earned Value Management
CCNA (network), RedHat Linux (OE), and Fiber certs
Integration & Test experience with external systems (CEC, IFF, C2P, CDLM, RSDS, Radars)
Experience in a technical role aboard US Navy AEGIS Destroyers/Cruisers
Clearance Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship required and a current or active Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
Often positions self to maintain computers in the lab, including under the desks and in the server closet.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information
