The College Access Advisor, under the direction of the Director of Outreach, supports and assists high school students with transition to postsecondary education, military service or the workforce. Works closely with the assigned independent school district staff to provide college and career advising that includes education on required testing, application process, scholarship searches and career exploration. Establishes working relationships with ISD principals, counselors, and teachers, assesses the needs of each school, and adapts programs and activities. The college access advisor will support the development of a college-going culture to include event coordination, individual and group student meetings, support K-8 outreach, and overall support the ISD and Texas A&M University –San Antonio’s enrollment management division.
This is a grant-funded position. Grant funded positions are time-limited and are contingent upon sufficient grant funding.
This position will work a minimum of 40 hours per week and is an in-person/on-multiple campus’ position. Some work hours will extend into the evenings and weekends. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and peak times. Some travel is required.
