Mercy Corps’ Sudan crisis response seeks to meet the humanitarian needs of vulnerable Sudanese and other conflict-affected people across the country. Prosper Global Sudan is recognized as a leader in market systems, agricultural, and food security and building on this experience, the MC Sudan humanitarian program will layer in resilience and other program activities where appropriate and feasible to do so. Assistance is delivered with a focus on needs, in partnership with local actors and civil society.
Collective Sudan is an innovative nexus Consortium platform formed in August 2023, bringing together 19 organizations committed to delivering more effective assistance through a harmonized cash-plus approach. Guided by local knowledge, global best practice and evidence-based adaptation, Collective Sudan works across the country – including hard-to-reach areas – to provide inclusive, scalable, and integrated interventions that meet urgent needs while supporting foundations for recovery and resilience. By leveraging cash and markets to address multi-sectoral basic needs, Collective Sudan strengthens local agency, civil society and promotes economic stability while catalysing more coordinated, efficient and impactful humanitarian action and recovery.
By positioning cash as the default modality, Collective Sudan enables choice and dignity aligned with accountability and people-centred design, while reducing harmful coping strategies and supporting local markets. CVA is faster, more cost-efficient than in-kind aid, and strongly preferred by communities. Through CVA and complementary interventions, Collective Sudan addresses complex, multi-sectoral needs, supports localization, and promotes economic recovery.
The Capacity Sharing Manager provides strategic and technical leadership for the design, coordination, and delivery of capacity strengthening across the Collective Sudan (CCS), with a strong emphasis on advancing localization and partner-led programming. This role ensures a coherent, consortium-wide approach to strengthening national NGO partners across technical (CVA), organizational, and systems capacities, combining strategic oversight with targeted hands-on support where needed. The Manager leads the development of capacity strengthening strategies, frameworks, tools, and workplans, ensuring alignment with CCS program priorities, donor expectations, and global best practice.
The Manager works closely with the Deputy Chief of Party, Partnerships Manager, Programs Advisor and other members of the CCS Secretariat, as well as all partner organizations to ensure that capacity strengthening is contributing to improved quality, accountability, and sustainability of programming.

Reports Directly To: The CVA Manager will be hosted by Prosper Global but managed within the Cash Consortium of Sudan structure. 1) They will report directly to the CCS Deputy Chief of Party for technical and day-to-day oversight while 2) Prosper Global partnership team will act as the administrative manager – as the lead agency for the CCS and the grant holder for sub-grantees.

Prosper Global team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work. The successful Capacity Sharing Manager will combine deep technical knowledge of cash transfer programming with practical experience in supporting and developing partners. They will demonstrate creativity and adaptability in addressing challenges, particularly in complex or conflict-affected contexts. The officer will have strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage a range of stakeholders and foster effective partnerships. They will be experienced in designing, leading, and supporting capacity development initiatives, helping partners improve their systems and practices. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic environments with many stakeholders, manages multiple priorities efficiently, and approaches challenges with problem-solving and accountability. Clear, collaborative communication, and teamwork are central to success in this role.
This position is based in Nyala, Darfur but will be roving across all Darfur states (candidate will be hosted by different partners in the consortium depending on state) .The position requires up to 60% domestic travel to support state programs, which may include travel to insecure locations where freedom of movement is limited and areas where amenities are limited.
