Oversees the operations of Collections Department. Leads the development, deployment and direction of Collections programs and processes. Provides strategy, guidance, support and directives related to collection efforts for all consumer (secured and unsecured)/real estate loan products, business loan products, services and delivery systems. Responsible for delinquency control on all consumer, real estate loans and business loans including Modifications loans on each product. Responsible for controlling charge off and providing accurate Known Loss details. Responsible for liquidation of repossessed/foreclosed collateral including commercial loans. Keeps abreast of all applicable laws, regulations and trends to establish and maintain guidelines, procedures and standards that support organizational goals, objectives and industry best practices. Ensures operational activities are in compliance and are conducted within established policies and directives. Monitors trends and communicates significant shifts in market or operating conditions to ELT. Review and monitor the Credit Union collection activities to ensure that overall collection targets are being achieved.
Manages team to ensure professional and courteous service is provided to all members and Nuvision Federal Credit Union team members and aligned with member centricity strategy and values. Provides leadership, coaching, training and manage performance of team to ensure Collections achieves delinquency/charge off control and meets operational goals. Develops specific objectives, budget and performance standards for functional area of responsibility. Understands and supports Nuvision’s strategic direction by correlating the overall strategy to the Collections team and ensures the team understands their role in supporting the strategy.
Responsibilities:
• Establishes and directs the implementation and management of policies, processes and procedures related to collection, modification, and charge off to ensure a strong system of internal controls to safeguard the Credit Union’s assets and insure compliance with regulations
• Oversees the day-to-day operation of the Collections Department
• Responsible for the consistent setting, monitoring and managing of performance standards for all employees.
• Ensures service levels are met and the highest level of team member/department productivity is attained.
• Leads, coaches and develops team members to successfully achieve individual goals and support organizational objectives.
• Is responsible for overseeing the performance of inter departmental relationships to ensure the highest level of internal and external services to members.
• Responsible for department training, cross-training, counseling, disciplinary actions and ongoing performance evaluations to ensure a highly qualified team.
• Manages the liquidation of repossessed/foreclosed credit union assets to maximize recoveries.
• Manages the Modification process on all loans to ensure compliance
• Oversees monthly trend analysis including: the preparation of the monthly charge off report, known losses, Loan Quality Trend and negative share write-off reporting and other reporting as required.
• Serves on the Credit Risk Committee and prepares monthly agenda.
• Utilizes analysis, market trends and best practices to proactively recommend strategies on collection practices and processes
• Oversees the progress of accounts assigned to collection agencies, small claims and civil litigation.
• Review bankruptcy accounts and monitors reports and agreements.
• Supports and participates in continuous improvement activities.
• Represents the Credit Union in a positive and professional manner.
• Other related duties as assigned.
• Responsible for meeting the delinquency/charge off ratios as established by the board of directors.
• Maintains member and other sensitive information with confidentiality.
• Treats all co-workers and members with respect.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Must possess 7-10 years of hands-on collection experience, including all loan types such as consumer secured and unsecured, real estate and commercial/business loans.
• Must possess managerial experience in a financial institution and have strong background in bankruptcy laws, foreclosures, and repossessions.
• Must have working knowledge of pc-based work processing, spreadsheet and productivity applications.
• Well rounded knowledge of loan servicing and collection laws, regulations including FDCPA.
• Business Acumen/Financial Awareness: understand cost/ benefit relationships, department profitability as well as the importance of balancing serving member needs and financial considerations.
• Sense of urgency – making decisions, driving projects and people forward to achieve the desired outcome.

• Strong communication skills – written and verbal including ability to create and deliver presentations to various groups.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Credit Union or banking experience preferred
Education:
• Knowledge at a level normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field, in order to acquire the technical background necessary to perform assigned duties and a professional certification or graduate degree.

• Alaska: Min $138,590.62 - Mid $173,238.27 - Max $207,885.93
• Arizona: Min $122,186.01 - Mid $152,732.52 - Max $183,279.02
• Florida: Min $119,923.31 - Mid $149,904.14 - Max $179,884.96
• Nevada: Min $125,014.39 - Mid $156,267.99 - Max $187,521.59
• Southern California: Min $138,590.62- Mid $173,238.27 - Max $207,885.93
• Texas: Min $119,923.31 - Mid $149,904.14 - Max $179,884.96
• Washington: Min $141,984.67 - Mid $177,480.84 - Max $212,977.01
• Wyoming: Min $122,751.69 - Mid $153,439.61 - Max $184,127.53
The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
