Summary
The Collections Specialist will facilitate collection efforts of delinquent accounts ensuring money owed is received promptly.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor assigned accounts to identify outstanding balances and follow up with clients via phone and/or email on outstanding balances
- Maintain log of payment promises and pertinent account details, schedule follow-up communication with account holder
- Record all collection activity
- Report on collection activity and accounts receivable status weekly
- Escalate accounts that require collection letters to the RailPros Collection Manager
- Work with internal teams to resolve billing and credit issues
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and respectful workplace culture, free from behaviors that undermine morale, productivity, or organizational values
- Uphold the organization’s standards of integrity, accountability, and respect in all duties and interactions
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations
- Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate with account holders in a courteous manner
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic accounting experience
- B2B Collections
Preferred Education and Experience
- Two years of related experience in accounts receivable preferred
Additional
Qualifications, Certifications, etc.
- NetSuite experience is a plus
