Credit Risk Management Specialist

As a Credit Risk Management Specialist at OCBC, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the bank's lending activities are secure and sustainable. You'll work closely with stakeholders to identify and mitigate credit risks, making a tangible impact on the bank's bottom line. To excel in this role, you'll need to stay ahead of the curve, anticipating and responding to changes in the market and the economy. You'll work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective credit risk management strategies, leveraging data and insights to inform your decisions. Your ability to balance risk and reward will be crucial in driving business growth while maintaining a strong risk profile.

What you do

  • Oversee the operation and reports of collection function;

  • Manage the problem credit portfolio and maintain portfolio delinquency and provisioning within the bank’s risk appetite;

  • Review and approve loan classification, credit decision and legal action for problem accounts within authority;

  • Manage correspondence with external parties (e.g. Lawyers and Courts);

  • Maintain, review and update policy, procedures and internal guidelines relating to collection function;

  • To drive the enhancement of credit risk management processes and IT projects relevant to the team;

  • To lead the project initiatives and other ad hoc-tasks and assignments from the Department Head.


Who you are

  • A degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, or economics

  • 7-10 years work experience in collection, with at least 3 years in supervisory level

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data

  • Strong knowledge related to collection business

  • Risk sensitive, able to work under pressure, initiative, independent and responsible

  • Good communication and interpersonal skill

  • Good command of English and/or Mandarin
