Join us at the Australian Museum and help us to achieve our Mission to ignite wonder, inspire debate and drive change.
The Collection Enhancement Project (CEP) is the Australian Museum’s digitisation program, aiming to standardise and streamline digitisation activities across the Museum. The CEP is managed within two streams – Natural Science collections and Cultural collections – based on the specialised requirements and expertise needed to digitise such varied collection material. The focus within the Natural Science collections is to digitally register specimens to address legacy data issues, capture high resolution images, and barcode the specimens along with the relevant storage facilities. The aim of Natural Sciences CEP is to improve collection management, audit capabilities, and accessibility of the collections.
The Collection Data Cleansing Officer supports the Collection Enhancement Project (CEP) through analysing and optimising the quality, accuracy and consistency of the Australian Museum’s collection and digital asset data across its Collection Management System, EMu, and Digital Asset Management System, Fotoware. Working within the Collection Systems team and with internal stakeholders, the role assists with aligning collection metadata, preparing and remediating data for CEP activities, undertaking user acceptance testing during system installations and upgrades, and providing user support. This is an opportunity to contribute to the integrity and accessibility of information relating to the Museum’s diverse natural history, archival and cultural collections.
You will be paid a competitive total remuneration package of $88,529 - $94975, including an annual salary of $78,000 - $84799, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation (currently 12%) and annual leave loading.
