We are seeking a Collateral Business Analyst to support the final phase of a multi-year collateral platform replacement programme. With standard client migrations already delivered, the focus now shifts to onboarding complex clients and supporting advanced collateral services.
This role will play a critical part in report configuration, rationalisation, client engagement, and testing, ensuring solutions delivered from the new cloud-based platform meet client needs while driving standardisation and efficiency.
Gather and document client reporting requirements across collateral workflows.
Design and configure reports from the new cloud-based collateral platform to replicate and enhance existing Colline capabilities
Drive report standardisation and rationalisation, challenging legacy client-specific formats and promoting scalable, reusable reporting solutions.
Analyse report usage and data requirements to reduce duplication while maintaining client outcomes.
Work with technology teams to translate reporting requirements into functional specifications.
Engage directly with clients to gather, validate, and refine requirements across reporting, workflows, and migration activities.
Act as a bridge between clients, operations, and technology, translating business needs into clear requirements.
Support migration planning for complex clients, ensuring alignment with new platform capabilities.
Provide SME input on collateral use cases including advanced scenarios (e.g., rehypothecation, optimisation).
Define and execute test cases for reporting and collateral workflows.
Perform detailed validation of outputs, identifying discrepancies and exceptions.
Manage defect lifecycle—working with technology teams and clients to resolve issues efficiently.
Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles across client migrations.
Apply strong understanding of end-to-end collateral processes, including:
Margin calculation and calls (VM & IM)
Collateral settlement and dispute management
Rehypothecation flows
Collateral optimisation strategies
Ensure reporting outputs accurately reflect complex collateral scenarios.
Support onboarding of complex clients and services into the new platform.
Assist with migration planning, execution, and post-go-live validation.
Identify risks and propose mitigations related to data, reporting, and workflows.
Strong understanding of end-to-end collateral management workflows, including complex use cases (rehypothecation, optimisation).
Experience working in collateral operations, margining, or related functions
Familiarity with reporting outputs and data structures in collateral platforms.
~3+ years of Business Analysis experience (or equivalent), ideally within collateral or capital markets.
Proven ability to:
Gather and document requirements (especially reporting-focused)
Challenge and rationalise business needs
Translate requirements into functional specifications
Experience with collateral platforms such as:
CloudMargin (preferred)
Colline (highly desirable)
Strong data analysis skills (Excel essential; SQL beneficial).
Understanding of cloud-based reporting environments is advantageous.
Strong client-facing experience with the ability to:
Understand client requirements and business drivers
Challenge and influence stakeholders constructively
Communicate complex concepts clearly to both business and IT audiences
Experience supporting UAT and defect resolution cycles
Strong attention to detail with a structured approach to validation and issue tracking.
Reduction in number of bespoke client reports vs standardised reports
% of reporting requirements delivered using scalable standard templates
Accuracy and completeness of configured reports (low defect rate)
Timely delivery of requirements, testing, and migration milestones
UAT defect leakage rate and resolution turnaround time
Quality of documentation (minimal rework required by technology teams)
Client satisfaction scores during migration and onboarding
Successful adoption of standardised reporting solutions
Reduction in client-reported issues post-migration
Reduction in duplicate or redundant reporting outputs
Improvement in report generation efficiency and turnaround times
Identification and implementation of process improvements
Accuracy of collateral reporting for complex use cases
