Job Summary

  • The Collaboration Engineering Lead / Manager owns the strategy, delivery, and operations of enterprise collaboration platforms within the Digital Workplace organization. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and service ownership, ensuring collaboration services are secure, reliable, compliant, and scalable.
  • This role leads Collaboration Engineering & Operations across Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and governance platforms, and partners closely with Security, Identity, Cloud Platform, and End User Experience teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration Platform Strategy & Architecture

o Own the collaboration platform strategy and roadmap

o Define and govern standards for:

  • Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams architectures
  • Collaboration governance and lifecycle management
  • Data protection, retention, and eDiscovery in Puview

o Ensure platforms align with enterprise security, compliance, and data policies

o Review and approve complex platform designs and changes

  • Service Delivery, Operations & Risk

o Own collaboration service outcomes, including availability, performance, and user experience

o Act as final escalation point for critical collaboration incidents

o Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement

o Ensure operational maturity through:

  • Monitoring and reporting
  • Standardized runbooks and processes
  • Change and release management

o Partner with Security and Compliance on audits and regulatory requirements

  • People & Stakeholder Leadership

o Lead and develop Associate and Senior Associate Collaboration Engineers

o Set performance expectations and support career development

o Build strong partnerships with Digital Workplace, Security, and Cloud leadership

o Serve as a trusted advisor on collaboration and productivity platforms

o Support transformation initiatives and roadmap planning

Skills and Experience

  • English level B2+
  • Technical Skills

o Deep expertise in Microsoft 365 collaboration ecosystems

o Strong background in:

  • Exchange Online
  • SharePoint and OneDrive architecture
  • Microsoft Teams services

o Experience with collaboration governance, backup, and compliance tooling (e.g., AvePoint)

o Understanding of identity, security, and data protection controls at enterprise scale

  • Professional Skills

o Proven people and technical leadership experience

o Strong strategic planning and decision-making skills

o Excellent stakeholder communication abilities

o Ability to balance user experience, security, and operational stability

  • Education / Professional Experience/ Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 8++ years of experience in collaboration, digital workplace, or platform engineering roles
  • Prior experience leading collaboration or productivity engineering teams
  • Microsoft certifications strongly preferred:

o Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator

o Security & Compliance certifications
