Job Description

The Cold Forming Operator Trainee operates assigned mechanical equipment in a manufacturing environment.

  • Position Type: Full time, Hourly Non-Exempt

  • Work Location: 23400 Haggerty Rd, Farmington Hills, MI 48335

  • Schedule: Multiple shifts available – 1st shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM; 3rd shift, Monday – Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM

  • Pay: $22.00/hour

  • Other Compensation: $1.25/hour shift premium for 3rd shift

What You'll Do as a Cold Forming Operator Trainee

  • Run assigned mechanical equipment

  • Ensure that items produced pass quality control requirements

  • Perform moderately advanced troubleshooting of equipment and perform adjustments

  • Read and interpret blue prints if applicable

  • Use moderately advanced measuring instruments

  • Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately

  • Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)

  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Basic mathematical skills

Qualifications (Required)

  • Education: High School Diploma

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience

  • Perform work under minimal supervision

  • Handle moderately complex issues and problems, and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff

  • Possess solid working knowledge of subject matter
