Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $20.00 - $23.00 Hourly

Qualifications, Duties, PerksAn Average Day:
(Includes, but not limited to)
- Track admissions to ensure all admits are coded
- Review necessary information (H&P, NIA, physician notes) on all new admits and recerts for coding
- Input primary diagnosis and comorbidity codes as documented by clinical staff
- Comply with all ICD-10 and CMS guidelines
- Obtain additional documentation as needed from branch locations
- Meet coding deadlines to support timely submission of NOE
- Follow up with coding holds to ensure timely resolution
- Update diagnosis codes when needed
- Train the branch locations regarding medical coding, as needed
- Maintain effective communication with locations including timely response to emails and/or phone calls
- Assist Medical Billing Specialists in resolving coding issues for claim submission
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- CPC or CPC‑A certification required (AAPC, AHIMA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of two (2) years of Medicare/Medicaid coding experience.
- Hospice coding experience preferred, but not required.
- Strong understanding of ICD‑10 and medical documentation review.
- Ability to resolve coding holds and support billing teams with rejected claims.
- Comfortable providing coding guidance or training to branch teams as needed.
- Must be flexible in scheduling to meet business needs.
