We are seeking skilled Coded Welders specialising in aluminium to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. This position is crucial for ensuring the quality and integrity of our welding projects, contributing to the successful delivery of engineering solutions. MULTIPLE ROLES AVAILABLE!! We are looking for a talented and experienced Marine Welder / Boilermakers (Aluminium Specialist) to join our team. The successful applicant will become part of our Cairns team, enjoying competitive pay and full penalty rates.

About this Role:

  • Fabrication of new aluminium structures
  • Deck repairs and replacements
  • Watertight door and hatch installations
  • Working with pipes, tanks and other aluminium components

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing high-quality aluminium welds using various techniques (e.g., TIG, MIG)
  • Ensuring welds meet stringent quality standards and classification society requirements
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Following safe work practices and adhering to all safety protocols
  • Contributing to a positive and productive team environment
  • Working independently and as part of a team on various projects

To be Successful in this role you will need:

  • Completion of a relevant vocational qualification in welding or engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in coded welding, specifically with aluminium
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated expertise in aluminium welding using TIG and MiG processes
  • Experience working in a shipyard or marine environment is a strong preference
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safety and quality workmanship

What We Offer:

  • Earn $45 to $55 per hour once coded. Experienced welders will be required to get qualified in a minimum of 6 weld procedures and be coded.
