Job Description

A Code Enforcement Specialist plays an active role in achieving long-term customer satisfaction in the context of Community Association relationships. Specific responsibilities will vary with designated communities and may include but are not limited to: Inspecting properties for maintenance, landscaping, and compliance issues and accurately recording and following up on findings. This position works in close collaboration with the Community General Manager and Community Assistant Manager.

Candidates should be able to effectively communicate with a variety of individuals in a professional client-focused capacity. Candidates must also possess basic computer skills and host the ability to learn new systems quickly and efficiently. Candidates must have some knowledge of office and administrative processes, ie scanning, filing (paper/electronic), etc. This position performs services for residents, which may involve tasks such as answering incoming calls and emails, processing Design Applications, and preparing review packages for Committee review.

Daily responsibilities:

  • Notify responsible parties of code issues given in writing, by phone, in person, and electronically.
  • Respond to and investigate allegations of violations of Community guidelines to determine validity of complaint(s) and the appropriate course of action to mitigate issues.
  • Schedule and perform systematic property maintenance inspections to maintain Community compliance and aesthetics.
  • Entering violations and issuing violation letters.
  • Schedule Architectural Covenants Hearings.
  • Prepare Hearing Notice and Result letters.
  • Inspecting dog park and playground to ensure cleanliness—reporting issues to Management Team.
  • Creating agendas for Architectural Covenants Committee meetings.
  • Gather information and documentation required for Architectural Design Applications.
  • Email Pre-Review Comments (for architectural design applications) to residents.
  • Entering Architectural Covenants Committee decisions for Design Applications and creating decision letters for distribution applicant(s).
  • Scheduling meetings with the Architectural Covenants Committee and residents as needed.
  • Respond to resident emails and questions.
  • Other duties as requested.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Required; Associates degree Preferred.
  • 0 – 3 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance requirements (documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, guidelines, etc.)
  • Knowledge of conflict resolution techniques at a proficient level.
  • Professional communication skills (phone, interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.)
  • Professional customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented and a team player.
  • Time management and time critical prioritization skills.
  • Some Architectural knowledge preferred.
