Hours:4:55am – 2:50pm,including holidays

Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.

• This positionis responsible forcollecting semen and inseminating hens inchickenhousesInspecting semen todeterminequality andquantity for use aswell as inspection of hens for evidence of productionOther duties may be assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare for insemination process by equipment set upsuch as:funnel/tip collection, bird platform, step stool, microscope/densimeter, etc. (10%)

• Retrieval andmeticulousprocessing of males to collect semenand females toinseminate (50%)

• Replace males based on fertility numbers (10%)

• Inspection offemalesfor evidence of production(10%)

• Utilize microscope/densimeter todeterminesemen quality;utilizevisual todeterminesemen quantity (10%)

Other duties, responsibilities, and activities:

• These may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice,such aswashing/disinfection vehicles; sanitize AI breakroom; trim beaks/vents; properly euthanize weak/ill birdsin accordance withcompany policy (10%)

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare

• Thejobsiteis abiosecureenvironment whichrequires showering,changing clothing,and footwear before entering the facilityAppropriate clothing and footwearisprovided by the CompanyNo jewelry may be worn on thejobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered byappropriate clothing Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

• PhysicalMustuse safe lifting techniquesWill occasionallylift and/or move, using two Team Members, up to 80 poundsto move items such as bird coops. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularlyrequired to stand majority of shift (concrete floor) and walk up to 2 miles; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reachwith hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; stoop/bend up to 1000times per day; wrist movement with pipettes up to 2000times per day; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complexSpecific vision abilities required by the job include meticulous close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

• Tools and Equipment:Pipettor, Microscope, Densimeter, Pressure Washer

• Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safetygoggles,safety glasses,chemical gloves, and rubber boots are requiredEarplugs will be used as neededNIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed

• Chemicals Commonly Used Disinfectantssuch as Synergize,Virocid,Clorox Wipes, Bleach, Lysol, etc.

• Environment Requiredto work on wet, slippery surfaces and also work in hot, dry, extreme dusty, wet and cold environments.

• Safety:TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment. TM is expected to identify,addressand mitigate safety related risks.
