Join ALS Coal – Riverview, QLD as a Full-time Coal Quality Tester!
ALS Coal Technology is seeking one full-time Coal Quality Tester to join its Team at Riverview. This is hands-on physical testing work, an Entry-Level position with the potential for long-term employment for the right candidate.
The team focuses on the evaluation of metallurgical and thermal coal, utilizing advanced equipment like pilot/small-scale coke ovens and a Boiler Simulator Furnace.
Operational Hours: This role operates Monday to Friday across two rotating shifts: 6:00am–2:00pm and 10:00am–6:00pm.
· Safely handle and process large coal and coke samples.
· Load/unload material from ovens operating at high temperatures
· Perform physical testing (crushing, sizing, dividing).
· Record and transfer validated test results into systems.
· General site duties and safety incident reporting.
· No prior experience required; full training provided.
· Strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
· Solid numeracy, literacy, and basic computer skills.
· Physically fit; capable of repetitive manual handling in a dusty and hot environment.
· Willingness to learn, wear protective equipment, and meet production deadlines.
