Department:  Tempe High School Athletics or Activities
Reports to:  Assistant Principal for Athletics or Activities

Training and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in a similar position preferred
  • Successful experience working with students
  • Must meet all background requirements
Licensing and Certification Requirements:
  • National Federation of State High Schools Association (NFHSA) certification.
  • Valid IVP DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Valid Arizona teacher or Substitute certification.
  • Obtain appropriate training and certification to transport students in the white buses. Training must be completed within two weeks of beginning employment.
Salary Placement: Appropriate grade and step placement on the Extracurricular Salary Schedule

Located in the Greater Phoenix metropolitan area, the Tempe Union High School District (TUHSD) is located in Tempe, Arizona and serves approximately 11,500 students in six comprehensive high schools.

All six schools and the District received "A" letter grades from the Arizona Department of Education during the 24/25 school year. Three schools - Marcos de Niza, Mountain Pointe, and Desert Vista - are also currently A+ Schools of Excellence, a designation from the Arizona Educational Foundation that recognizes the best-of-the-best in Arizona public schools.

The District encompasses 162 square miles and serves the city of Tempe, the Town of Guadalupe, the Gila River Indian community, the Ahwatukee Foothills area of Phoenix and parts of Chandler.
