About the Role:

The Technical Service Associate will collaborate closely with the Technical Service Team to deliver hands-on technical assistance, repair, modification, and servicing of advanced medical systems. This is a 12-month work term running from January to December, offering valuable industry experience in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.

The successful applicant will:

• Support the electro-mechanical and optical repair of medical equipment, including component replacement, alignment, and verification to ensure systems perform to specification.
• Troubleshoot system failures by identifying root causes, conducting diagnostic testing, analyzing test results, and performing system and module calibrations to restore full functionality.
• Assist the Technical Service Team with the assembly, repair, and preventive maintenance of laser system modules and subassemblies, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and adherence to guidelines.
• Contribute to equipment modifications required to meet CSA electrical compliance standards, including implementing wiring updates, labeling, and component changes.
• Participate in the complete build, configuration, and setup of full medical systems, ensuring proper installation, integration, and operational readiness prior to quality verification.
• Collect, organize, and maintain technical data, measurements, and statistical information to support troubleshooting, process improvements, and service documentation.
• Prepare comprehensive service reports outlining diagnostics, repairs, and completed activities.

We are seeking a candidate with the following experience and attributes:

• Foundational skills in electronic system repair.
• Strong computer proficiency.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Currently enrolled in an Electrical, Electronics, or Photonics Engineering Technician/Technologist Co-op program.
