We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Co-op Product Designer - Electrical This position reports to Electrical Engineering Manager and will work in Vancouver, B.C.

**Please note that this position is open to current students enrolled in a Canadian accredited university and co-op program.

Vancouver:

Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.

As Co-op Product Designer - Electrical on the Vancouver team, you will be involved in a wide variety of tasks supporting administrative, engineering, and technical staff throughout the facility.

General Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic, sensor and motor evaluation, prototype assembly, test and analysis
  • Research and design concept solutions
  • Analyze functional performance for components and products and help identify improvements
  • Schematic and PCB development
  • Circuit design including schematic creation and component selection
  • Trouble-shooting of product and development designs

  • Lots of hands-on opportunities: build prototypes, test products and components; analyze product performance; disassemble, inspect, and analyze components for our mechatronic and electronic products.

Skills & Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in an Engineering program at an accredited university, preferably in the electrical/electronic, mechatronic, engineering-physics or similar disciplines
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs including: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; and, the willingness to learn other applications quickly
  • An interest in mechatronic devices
  • Previous experience reading electrical schematics is an asset

Salary range: $24.00 - $28.00 CAD per hour
