Your Opportunity
Our Toronto office is looking for a Co-op Student or Internto join the Forensic Disputes & Investigation (“FDI”) team from January to April 2027. This is a net new roleand the successful candidate will own the following responsibilities:
Be an integral part of our dedicated, high-performing national team providing investigative, litigation support and insurance advisory services
Support relationships with BDO's current and prospective clients
Activelyparticipatein discussions and meetings with engagement teams to plan and perform tasks and provide client service excellence
Together with the engagement team, execute on FDI engagements such as:
Forensic: Investigating fraud, corruption, money-laundering, and misappropriation of assets
Commercial insurance claims: Economic analysis of business interruption, product loss, and cyber claims
Litigation support: Accounting analysis related to shareholder disputes, breach of contracts, commercial and intellectual property, construction disruption, construction delay claims, and accounting and financial reporting disputes
Examine financial records and documentation, analyze financial data, construct financialmodelsand summarize observations
Conduct economic and industry research
Contribute to the preparation of financial and loss quantification models used by the team to conduct and support forensic analysis
Assistin drafting reports and presentations to clients
Develop relationships with peers within BDO and externally with current and prospective clients
Assistin business development opportunities

Your experience and education
You are enrolled in a post-secondary program specializing in Accounting, Finance,Businessor other related fields with the intention of pursuing the CPA designation
You have a strong interest in pursuing a career in Investigative and Forensic Accounting
You have a desire to provide outstanding client service
Youhave the ability towork independently but are also able to effectively contribute to a team environment
You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
You have excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas effectively in both oral and written format
Youhave the ability toprioritize competing deliverables with varying deadlines
You haveproficiencyin Microsoft Excel,Wordand PowerPoint
You have experience or a strong interest in learning andutilizingdata analytics tools. Anyexpertisein advanced data analysis, including working with tools such asPowerBIand Tableau, would be considered an asset .
The expected compensation for this role is between $48,000-$60,000.
