Huawei Canada's Advanced Optical Technology Lab focuses on advanced R&D in high-performance optical communications and networking. About the job:
Collection and management of raw sensing data using different technologies, including radar, depth camera, and WiFi sensing
Performance evaluation of implemented sensing algorithms via experimental testing of various applications, such as motion detection, target tracking, vital-sign monitoring, and gesture recognition
Occasional help with the research and development of novel sensing algorithms, including radar-vision fusion and large language model- (LLM-) aided sensing
The total target annual compensation (based on 2,080 hours per year) ranges from $58,000 to $104,000 depending on education, experience, and demonstrated expertise.
About the ideal candidate:
Enrolment in an undergraduate Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering program
Proficiency in Python programming language
Experience with software development tools (e.g., VS-code) and version control systems, including Git
Previous experience with a sensing technology, such as millimeter wave (mmWave) radar, depth camera, or WiFi sensing is an asset
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team
