Our Marine organization is a trusted provider of innovative solutions for the worldwide boating and boat building industry, and we recently expanded our scope to lead the boating industry into an electrified future. Dometic has won numerous NMMA Innovation Awards over the years, and we are always striving for new ways to make boating easier, safer, and more enjoyable.

We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Co-op - Digital Transformation Student This position reports to the Operations Engineer Manager and will work in Vancouver, B.C.

**Please note that this position is open to current students enrolled in a Canadian accredited university and co-op program.

Vancouver:

Dometic Marine’s headquarters are in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. The facility develops and manufactures hydraulic, electronic, and combustion-based products.

As Co-op - Digital Transformation Student on the Vancouver team, you investigate, analyze, design, recommend and implement process improvements to reduce costs by creating digital records of design, production and quality processes

General Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings, standard operating procedures, quality control documents and create digital records
  • Analyze areas needing improvement and determine potential solutions.
  • Supervise projects, monitor and report on projects status; ensure process improvement projects are implemented on time.
  • Work closely with engineers and shop floor workers to eliminate all paper records
  • Use modern data science and UX to develop dashboards and traceability of all electronic records to aid root cause analysis and proactive improvements

Skills & Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role will have acquired the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Currently enrolled in engineering, electrical or computer science
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate with and integrate multi-disciplinary expertise related to digital transformation and innovation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead, design and create applications of digital transformation and innovation using current and emerging tools, techniques and technology.
  • Develop skills in management, technology, communications, information architecture, data science, UX design, and demonstrate the ability to apply them in practice.

  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Strong proficiency with MS Office programs including: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint; and, the ability to learn other applications quickly.
  • Knowledge and experience working in CAD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Salary range: $23.50 - $27.50 CAD per hour
