MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented CNO Vulnerability Researcher to join our team . This position can be worked in Hanover, MD, Herndon, VA or San Antonio, TX In this role, you will support critical national security missions by identifying and analyzing software vulnerabilities, developing innovative solutions, and collaborating with a highly skilled cyber team to advance offensive and defensive capabilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Researching and discovering software vulnerabilities across multiple platforms and environments

  • Reverse engineering software to identify security weaknesses and develop mechanism bypasses

  • Performing as a team lead on projects when appropriate, providing technical guidance and mentorship

  • Managing the design, development, documentation, testing, and debugging of user land and kernel software and systems
    Researching and maintaining proficiency in tools, techniques, countermeasures, and emerging trends in computer network vulnerabilities, static and dynamic program analysis, network security, and encryption

  • Communicating project status, findings, and risk considerations with leadership and customers

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of relevant experience, or High School Diploma and 8+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience in C/C++, Python and Assembly (x86/x64) programming

  • Experience in vulnerability research

  • Experience in exploit development

  • Experience in reverse engineering and common security research tools such as IDA Pro, WinDBG, Ghidra, Radare, Binary Ninja, SysInternals, GDB, or similar

  • Experience with CNO capability development

  • Experience with low-level internals in Windows or Linux

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing fuzzers and static analysis tools

  • Experience with modern security system features

  • Experience using Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence, Crucible)

  • Experience applying Agile Scrum methodologies
    Experience mentoring junior vulnerability researchers

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active Secret clearance with the ability to upgrade to a TS/SCI clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.



The projected compensation range for this position is $128,800.00-$214,500.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, MANTECH invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
