CNO Reverse Engineer

Location: Fort Meade, MD
Clearance: TS/SCI with Full-Scope Polygraph

The CNO Reverse Engineer Level 2 performs reverse engineering of hardware components, software applications, and operating systems to determine functionality, code structures, circuit designs, and technical behaviors. This work directly supports the development of Computer Network Operations (CNO) tools and techniques. The role includes creating technical reports, proof-of-concept code, prototypes, demonstrations, and participating in technical briefings and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct reverse engineering of hardware, software, and operating systems to analyze functionality, code structures, and circuit designs.
• Develop technical outputs including written reports, proof-of-concept code, prototypes, and hands-on demonstrations.
• Create and deliver technical presentations on assigned projects.
• Administer and utilize hardware and software reverse engineering tools.
• Program in Assembly, C, C#, C++, Java, Perl, or Python.
• Use version control and configuration management systems such as Subversion and CVS.
• Apply CNO tools and techniques in software development and reverse engineering tasks.
• Provide documentation and participate in design and technical reviews according to government processes.
• Utilize specialized expertise such as:
• Computer forensics
• Kernel-level programming

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware or software reverse engineering.
• Experience in computer forensics and low-level/kernel programming.
• Familiarity with CNO development, reverse engineering workflows, and technical documentation procedures.
• Ability to work with proprietary, GOTS, and open-source toolsets.

Education Requirements

One of the following:

• Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience
• High school diploma with 12 years of relevant experience

Degree or experience must be in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Network Engineering.

Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000
