Job Description

C#.NET Developer

Contract staff

Responsibilities

  • Build new systems and maintain existing applications .NET 4.0 / ASP.NET / VB.NET / C#.NET / SQL Server 2008 or 2012 / MVC /WCF Web Services / WCF Data Services.
  • Coordinates with the Lead Developer / Senior Developer
  • Provides technology estimates and makes sure that work is completed within the estimated time;
  • Makes sure that the quality of work is very satisfactory within a given deadline;
  • Investigates and recommends solutions for technical issues as assigned/requested;
  • Responsible to write simple to complex programming codes;
  • Performs any other tasks required by management from time to time (e.g. conduct brown bag, create proof of concept, perform code review)

Qualifications & Skills:

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering/Science, Information Technology, or its equivalent

Experience

  • 2-3 years of programming experience using ASP.NET/VB.NET/C#.NET.
  • 2-3 years T-SQL experience
  • 2-3 years experience with SQL Server (2008/2012 preferred).
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and computer science foundations, such as memory management and low-level algorithm performance.
  • Deep knowledge of the .NET 3.5/4.0/4.5 Framework, including Visual Studio 2008, VB.NET, ASP.NET, MVC, ASMX and WCF Web Services, and ADO.NET.
  • Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices.
  • Strong experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA).
  • Ability to design and optimize SQL Server 2008/2012 stored procedures.
  • Experience with JQuery/ HTML 5 or similar technologies.
  • Experience with JSON is an advantage.
  • Experience with Payment Gateways, e-Commerce, Insurance or Financial Systems (not required but is preferable)
  • Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment and to quickly learn new concepts and software is necessary.
  • Candidate should be a self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, responsible team player with exceptional relationship management skills.
  • Passionate about building high-quality systems with software implementation best practices
