Job Description

Setup and operate CNC swiss lathe machines to fabricate production parts.

Reporting To:

Shift Supervisor and/or Director of Operations

Essential Job Functions

  • Setup and operate CNC swiss lathe machines.
  • Trouble shoot and diagnose machine performance and ensure produced parts meet specification.
  • Make appropriate offsets and adjust tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Properly use calipers, verniers, and thread gauges.
  • Properly and safely load and unload machines.
  • Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machines.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Utilize and abide by all safety procedures.
  • Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.

  • Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbal and written
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail with precision equipment and products
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required. Tech school training preferred.
  • 3 years operating experience in CNC swiss lathe machining, Tsugami, Star, or Citizen machines
  • Experience holding tight tolerances.

Physical Requirements

  • Required to stand, walk, or bend for extended periods of time.
  • Must be capable of lifting, pulling, pushing, or carrying up to 30 lbs.
