CNC Steel Fabrication Operator

Location: Ashland, VA
Shift: 1st Shift
Starting Pay: $20.00/hour — higher depending on experience

We are seeking a skilled CNC Steel Fabrication Operator with structural steel experience. This role involves operating CNC machinery, interpreting technical drawings, performing machining and assembly work, and checking finished components for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC equipment, including combination mill/lathe and drill line machines used for structural steel fabrication.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders
• Use hand and power tools for machining and assembly tasks.
• Adjust machine settings to maintain proper performance and accuracy.
• Inspect completed components to verify they meet design and structural specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic machine maintenance.
• Enter production information and maintain documentation in Global Shop (ERP system)
• Work with team members to maintain a safe and efficient production environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in structural steel fabrication required
• Experience operating CNC equipment, specifically combination mill/lathe and drill line machines
• Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Strong computer skills; experience with Global Shop or similar ERP systems preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
