Advance Your Career as a CNC Setter!

Valmet is looking for a CNC Setter to join the LB Bentley team in Stroud, UK. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within our Machine Shop, taking responsibility for a dedicated CNC Cell and ensuring machines, people, and production processes operate safely and efficiently. You'll work closely with Production Team Leaders, Engineers, and CNC Operators to drive quality, productivity, and continuous improvement while helping deliver precision-engineered components for demanding industrial applications.

What you'll do

  • Set up and operate CNC machines within a dedicated CNC Cell, ensuring production runs safely and efficiently.
  • Act as the first point of contact within the Cell and support the day-to-day coordination of activities.
  • Monitor machine utilisation and performance to help achieve production and efficiency targets.
  • Carry out traveller bookings, maintain production documentation, and sign off first-off inspections.
  • Work closely with Production Engineering to resolve drawing, process, and manufacturing queries.
  • Coordinate machine maintenance activities and support continuous process improvements.
  • Work closely with the Production Team Leader and Production Manager to support production schedules and delivery requirements.
  • Minimise scrap, maintain a safe and tidy working environment, and promote high quality standards.
  • Mentor new team members and apprentices and help identify training needs within the Machine Shop.
  • Provide effective shift handovers and communicate production issues and priorities to the wider team.

What you'll bring

  • Previous experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
  • CNC machine setting experience and a good understanding of machining processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
  • An engineering qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent experience would be advantageous.
