Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and floor-active CNC Programmer & Manufacturing Engineer to join a stable, growing manufacturing team. You will work with some of the best equipment in the industry, programming and optimizing complex, high-end parts for 5-axis mills, mill-turn lathes, Swiss turning centers, and Wire EDMs, with a special focus on turning operations.

This is not a desk-bound role. We need an experienced programmer who thrives on the shop floor—spending ample time at the machines validating programs, observing machine responses, and making real-time optimizations and adjustments. You will take true process ownership from start to finish, driving New Product Introduction, and working closely alongside operators to ensure they are fully equipped to see every part through to success.

Why Join Us?

  • Meaningful Work & Ownership: Take true pride in your craft by owning new product launches end-to-end, guiding complex, high-end parts from initial programming to final floor validation.
  • Advanced Technology: Operate state-of-the-art, high-precision equipment—including 5-axis mills, mill-turns, Swiss lathes, and Wire EDM.
  • Growth & Stability: Join a highly stable, growing company with limitless opportunities to expand your skills across a diverse range of machines.

Compensation

  • $100 - $130k / yr

Shift

  • 1st shift: Monday - Friday
  • 6am - 4pm or 7am - 5pm

Responsibilities:

  • Floor-Active Programming: Spend significant time out on the shop floor validating parts at the machine, monitoring machine response, and making real-time program optimizations and adjustments.
  • CAD/CAM Execution: Utilize Mastercam and SolidWorks to program complex, high-precision parts for a diverse range of advanced CNC equipment.
  • Process Ownership & NPI: Lead New Product Introduction (NPI), establish highly efficient machining processes, design custom fixtures, and determine accurate production routing.
  • Operator Collaboration: Work hands-on with machine operators, providing troubleshooting support and ensuring they have the tools, documentation, and knowledge required to successfully run the parts.
  • Turning & Multi-Axis Focus: Develop robust programs across the facility, applying a specialized expertise in turning operations while supporting milling, mill-turns, and Swiss centers.
  • Documentation: Create, update, and maintain comprehensive setup sheets, tool lists, routing instructions, and production documentation to ensure repeatable success.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Required

  • Experience: Extensive background as a CNC Programmer with a specialized focus in turning, supported by solid milling experience.
  • Software: Advanced proficiency in both Mastercam and SolidWorks
  • Work Style: Proven comfort and preference for a floor-active programming role; must be able to step away from the desk to validate parts and troubleshoot directly at the spindle.
  • Technical: Deep understanding of total process ownership, from NPI and fixture design to complex part routing and documentation.
  • Teamwork: Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with standard operators to dial in processes and equip them for production runs.

Preferred

  • Advanced Machining: Hands-on experience programming for 5-axis mills, mill-turn machines, Swiss turning centers, precision grinders, or Wire EDM.
  • Materials: Experience programming and machining high-end parts using exotic metals or complex alloys.
  • Education: Technical/trade school certification or additional advanced machining/programming education.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid time off and paid holidays

About Laborup

Laborup is the #1 AI powered talent platform for America’s industrial workforce. We use AI to create jobs, not take them away. We help HR and plant leaders hire and keep the skilled workers who keep plants running: machinists, welders, maintenance techs, operators, industrial electricians, and engineers. USA Today called us the “LinkedIn for blue collar workers,” and Forbes profiled our work in “How AI Is Solving America’s 1 Trillion Dollar Manufacturing Labor Crisis.”

Today we work with manufacturers from 50 person shops to large public companies with tens of thousands of employees, and the story is the same everywhere. It is hard to find talent, hard to keep good people, and staffing costs keep rising. In a market where filling critical industrial roles can take months and turnover is constant, Laborup helps teams move qualified workers from first contact to on site interview in days instead of weeks and keep them on the floor longer.

Most of the workers our customers need are not on LinkedIn or the usual job boards. Laborup uses AI to find this hidden workforce, call and text them, screen and qualify them, build real profiles, and match them directly to the plants and roles where they can succeed. For workers, that means real, permanent roles at serious manufacturers, not one off gigs. For companies, it is durable infrastructure for hiring and retention at scale in a labor market that will stay tight for years.

We work across nuclear, defense, and advanced manufacturing, as well as sectors like aerospace, automotive, and food production. Teams that use Laborup hire 5 to 10 times faster, see around 3 times better retention, and cut cost per hire by up to 50 to 70 percent. That turns into fewer empty shifts, fewer missed orders, more stable teams, and more capacity without more headache.

We are building the modern talent system for America’s industrial base with a simple long term goal: put a billion industrial workers to work in good jobs that matter.
