The Opportunity:

Open Mind Developments is launching our first U.S.-based manufacturing and fulfillment facility, and we’re looking for a hands-on CNC Production Assistant to play a key role in getting it running smoothly and efficiently from day one. In this role, you’ll lead day-to-day CNC production support, oversee machinery, troubleshoot equipment issues, and drive continuous improvements that maximize uptime, output, and product quality - all within a clean, controlled environment built for performance and precision.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform CNC machine homing and start-up procedures.
  • Load correct cut files and set up appropriate jigs.
  • Zero working home origin for each job.
  • Conduct minor repairs and adjustments to jigs as needed.
  • Operate CNC machines - load/unload cases, optimize cycle times, and apply MagSafe.
  • Visually inspect CNC’d cases to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Organize defective products by order and submit for reprocessing.
  • Maintain organized staging of WIP (work-in-progress) cases awaiting CNC.
  • Stage CNC’d cases by order for the shipping team.
  • Execute bulk CNC runs of blank cases.
  • Sweep, organize supplies, and properly dispose of garbage.
  • Assist with monthly inventory counts.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient workspace.
  • Support team members as needed.
  • Operate all equipment safely and follow all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with peers and management to improve processes and promote teamwork
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative facility culture.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Mechanically inclined with a hands-on approach to tasks
  • Capable of performing repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy
  • Quick to learn new procedures and contribute to process improvements
  • Effective both independently and in collaborative team settings
  • Thrives in fast-paced environments with frequently changing priorities
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and clear communication
  • Detail-oriented with a strong sense of pride in workmanship
  • Enthusiastic team player dedicated to green practices and sustainability
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and standing for 8-hour shifts
  • Available 5 days a week - Monday to Friday

Compensation - $18-$21 USD per hour
