The Opportunity
The CNC Operator must demonstrate attention to detail, work independently without supervision, and possess good oral and written communication skills. This candidate must have the ability to work in a collaborative team environment with management and production staff.
What you will do?
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Set-up and operate CNC drilling machine to produce precision parts.
- Other machining and QC related tasks as required.
- Participate in company safety program and contribute to safe working environment.
- determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, tools to be used, and materials for the job and setup requirements.
- Ensure work piece dimensions are correct and to established tolerance criteria.
- perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, grinding, and other operations.
- Accurately filling out process sheets and accurately counting number of pieces completed.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Setup, machine, and offload parts in an efficient manner
- Verifies conformance of part to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as, scales, calipers, micrometers, and fixed gauges; Fill out inspection reports as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
- Report any issues to supervisor, troubleshoot parts when issues occur.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Responsibilities will include operating the following machines: laser, break press, Voortman, waterjet and copper bending machine.
- Additional responsibilities to be performed at the discretion of management.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of related experience with CNC laser, break press, and water jet.
- Relevant machine experience required.
- Basic math skills for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.
- Ability to work independently or with supervision.
- Crane and forklift considered an asset.
- Capable to lift to 50lbs or 23 kilograms from ground to table level.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Dedication and focus, strong work ethic.
- Attention to detail.
