Let’s talk about the role!
The CNC Operator is responsible for creating high quality body jewelry products that will be sent to customers internationally. This position creates parts and tools using precision computer equipment and adjust and maintain all equipment used in their daily job duties.
Duties
Ensure that the job is produced to the appropriate specifications and to the appropriate quality policy and procedures
Ensure that the machine is operated in accordance with company standards, policy and procedures
Maximize machine up-time and part yield
Minimize waste, both materials and time
Perform prescribed checks, including start up and shut down, on assigned machines
Report &/or correct any check discrepancies
Maintain log of events for assigned machines
Perform and record all in-process inspection on parts as called out, report & correct discrepancies
Maintain or report deviations from standard cycle or set up time for the job
Ensure appropriate materiel are obtained from and returned to the tool crib associate, including raw material and tooling
Maintain a clean and tidy work area
Perform any other duties that training has been given for, as required
SKILLS:
Must be able to read and interpret drawings and data
Must be able to measure parts using, but not exclusively, micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, gauges etc.
Need to be able and willing to follow both written and verbal instruction
Must have the ability to understand shop floor traveler sequences
Ability to know when to seek help or guidance
Ability to use an eye-loop &/or a microscope at 5x magnification
Must be dexterous enough to handle small parts successfully
