Job Description

As a CNC Machinist you will join a large team of skilled machinists working at pace to deliver precision-engineered metallic components that drive performance on track throughout the season.

During the build season, you will set and operate multi-axis CNC machines to produce complex parts with diligence and precision, supporting the demanding task of building a new race car. Please note this is a night-shift position operating on a 4554 shift-pattern.

What You'll Do

  • Manufacture precision-machined components using job packs and engineering drawings, supporting delivery of the schedule on time and in full.

  • Programme parts online, either fully or partially.
  • Maintain accurate programme, tooling and inspection records for all components produced.
  • Provide detailed, concise feedback to Senior Programmers and the Manufacturing Engineering Team to help develop workholding, programmes and machining methods.
  • Support Shift Leads in managing workflow across the machining cell to maximise output without compromising quality.
  • Inspect manufactured parts and maintain the ongoing quality of components.
  • Maintain high-quality shift handover records with other shift-based employees in the machine shop.
  • Ensure accurate works order booking through timely data entry.
  • Embrace and follow standard operating procedures and best-practice guides.
  • Contribute positively to health and safety standards on the shop floor.
  • Work with energy, agility and a continuous-improvement mindset to achieve the department’s objectives

You will be an experienced machinist with a proven track record, supported by a recognised Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.

You will also bring:

  • Experience setting and operating multi-axis machining centres.
  • Experience machining small-batch precision components, preferably within motorsport, aerospace or a similarly demanding environment.
  • Previous on-control programming experience.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems and software.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, mature approach.
  • The flexibility and agility to support the wider team.
  • Energy, enthusiasm and strong self-motivation.
