
Leidos Mechanical Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist Apprentice to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems.
Apprentices will learn the following skill sets during the program:
Part Layout prior to machining
Setup and operate manual milling machines.
Setup and operate manual lathe machines.
Setup and program, operate CNC Mill and Lathes
Conduct general housekeeping and maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities:
Leidos Mechanical Manufacturing Apprenticeship is a competency-based program. During the apprenticeship, the apprentice shall receive work experience and job-related education in all phases of the occupation, including safe work practices, necessary to develop the skill and proficiency of a skilled professional.
The term of the apprenticeship is 36 competencies, supplemented by the 1,530 total hours of related instruction, resulting in 2 MTT certificates.
Apprentices will attend college work instruction during Non-Work/Non-Paid Hours. Tuition and books are covered by Dynetics last-dollar scholarship.
Apprentices shall be paid a progressively increasing schedule of wages as apprentices attain proficiency in competencies.
Completion of program is 2 years or less based on competency completions.
Basic Qualifications:
Applicant must have a high school diploma, General Education Development (GED) equivalency.
In addition to the apprenticeship application, applicants must complete an application to the Community College training provider and be granted admission into the training program.
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions.
Applicant must be able to work 2nd shift - hours may vary based on school schedule.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of high school technical trade school is a plus.

Pay Range $35,100.00 - $63,450.00
