What You'll Do

As a CNC Machinist, you will play a vital role in producing precision-machined components while supporting Mersen's commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate large CNC machines
• Perform machining operations requiring close tolerances and superior finish specifications
• Produce pilot pieces for inspection and adjust machine setups as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, setup sheets, and work instructions
• Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy
• Conduct final inspections under general supervision
• Monitor product quality, conformance, and performance standards
• Operate multiple CNC machines efficiently and safely
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
• Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and production personnel to improve processes

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year of CNC machining experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
• Strong understanding of machining tolerances and precision measurement
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Mastercam, CAD/CAM programming experience
• Hands-on experience with 3-Axis and 5-Axis CNC Machines
• Familiarity with:
  • CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
  • Calipers
  • Micrometers
  • Depth Micrometers
  • Gauge Pins
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards
• Experience selecting and using cutting tools including:
  • End Mills
  • Ball Nose Cutters
  • Bull Nose Cutters
  • Chamfer Mills
  • Drills
• Ability to enter CNC instructions based on programmer specifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
