We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill or Lathe Machinist for the 2nd shift to machine parts with precision and efficiency. This role involves selecting appropriate sequences of operations, executing optimal setups, and ensuring all parts meet blueprint dimensions and tolerances.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Machine Operations: Set up and operate a Horizontal Boring mill or lathe machines to produce precision parts and components (Fanuc-controlled CNC HBM).
  • Maintenance: Perform daily start-up, clean-up, and routine preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Measurement Tools: Regularly use manual tools, including dial calipers, dial indicators, and OD/ID micrometers, to verify dimensions.
  • Material Handling: Identify and label materials for fabrication or further machining.
  • Blueprint reading: Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Physical: Load and unload raw materials and finished workpieces in and out of the CNC machine.
  • Flexibility: Operate additional machines as needed to meet production demand.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3–5 years of machining experience required.
  • Machine operation: Ability to set up and operate machines according to job specifications and production requirements.
  • Technical Skills: G& M code programming knowledge is a plus (training available).
  • Work Ethic: Must demonstrate an employee-owner mindset, with strong decision-making and accountability.
  • Additional Skills: Forklift or overhead crane experience preferred, and familiarity with alloy steel machining required.
  • Blueprint Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and BOMs.
  • Detail-Oriented: High accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical activities include pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and reaching as necessary.
  • Steel-toe boots and safety glasses are required.

Certifications

Alloy Engineering is a certified ASME Code Section I and Section VIII, Division I fabrication shop. Our welders are Certified AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX. Our staff includes two certified AWS-CWI inspectors, one AWS-SCWI inspector and two AWS-CWS supervisors. Several members of our Quality Assurance Department are also certified in various NDT (nondestructive testing) processes per ASNT SNT TC-1a.

With these certifications, Alloy Engineering can develop all necessary or required weld procedures, depending on the application, to produce the highest quality welded, fabricated product and certify 100% compliance.
