Purpose of the Role:

As a Support Machining Technician, you will play a key role within the machine shop, supporting Manufacturing Engineering and Machinists to enable efficient, high-quality production. You will be responsible for building and pre-setting tooling assemblies, preparing machines, and supporting the manufacture of precision components used in high-performance racing cars. This is a hands-on position where your contribution will directly impact the delivery of critical upgrades and projects, helping push the limits of performance on track while maintaining the highest quality standards.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and pre-set tooling assemblies in line with production requirements.

  • Manage and maintain the tooling vending system, ensuring availability of required tooling.

  • Prepare CNC machines, including setting up jigs, fixtures, and spindle tooling, and support the operation of multi-axis CNC machinery.

  • Work closely with metal stores to prepare and deliver raw materials.

  • Maintain accurate inspection and tooling records for all produced components.

  • Contribute to shop floor workflow management alongside Team Leaders and Shift Leads, and support hand finishing activities when required.

  • Follow TPM schedules to ensure machines are maintained to a high standard.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • Some experience operating CNC machine tools within a precision engineering environment.

  • Background in manufacturing small-batch, high-precision components (motorsport, aerospace, or similar preferred).

  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity (e.g. deburring, tapping).

  • Experience in careful component handling and packing.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Excel.

  • Experience with documentation, record keeping, or process tracking is desirable.
