Apex Steel Supplies is one of South Australia's largest manufacturers and distributors of steel products, servicing both domestic and commercial markets. With over 20 years of industry expertise, we're continuing to grow our processing capability and invest in new technology - including a
state-of-the-art tube laser machine. We are currently seeking a CNC Machine Operator – Afternoon
Shift to join our processing team. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role working across a range of CNC machines, including beamline, profile cutting, and our new tube laser. Please note: Successful applicants must be available to complete an initial training period on day shift before transitioning to the afternoon shift roster.

What You'll Be Doing

• Operating multiple CNC machines including tube laser, beamline, and profile cutting equipment.
• Loading and unloading steel using forklifts, cranes, and in-feed/out-feed systems.
• Reading workshop drawings and NC files to deliver accurate production.
• Performing basic machine setups, maintenance, and tool changes.
• Completing quality checks and maintaining traceability.
• Supporting a safe, clean, and efficient workshop.
• Working closely with programming, operations, and logistics teams.

What We're Looking For

• CNC machine operation experience across multiple machines (highly regarded).
• Background in steel manufacturing or metal processing (highly regarded).
• Current Forklift Licence (essential).
• Gantry crane experience (highly regarded).
• Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic.
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.
